This study analyzes the architectural characteristics in which spatiality of mobility has been revealed and examines the relationship between sociality and architectural practice changed by mobility. Body, transportation, and the body-machine hybrid agent develops new sensual experiences based on spatial structure derived from mobility and its speed. Mobility has developed the traffic-network space and highlighted the significance of 'in-between' space as a node on the network structure. The 'in-between' space appears to be transparent and horizontal vast spaces with no compartments for accommodating various moving flows and urban programs. Besides, mobility and increasing speed lead to 'visualization of experiences' and make the surface of architecture appear as a screen flooded with images and symbols. This enormous roofed space with seamless epidermis means that the important communication factor, intermediaing perception and experience of bodies in the building environment of the modern city, is the surface and spatial composition with symbols as well as products. In conclusion, the spatiality of mobility has developed such architectural characteristics like fluid form, seamless and flat epidermis, the reliance of mediated surface embodying moving visual perception, and enormous roofed space |
