The aim of this study is to suggest the future planning directions through the derivation of improving way by functional spaces in hospital ward. Research method includes the classification and analysis of functional spaces for the patients, the nurses, and the public of selected hospitals. The sample hospitals are consisted of 3 local hospitals, 2 recent hospitals in Korea, and 2 recent hospitals in Japan. Some conclusions can be summarized as followings: Around 35 beds are suggested as the number of beds per nursing unit considering the nursing trend and comprehensive nursing care. Nurses' station should be located in the center of nursing unit for the consideration of nurses' observation and travel distance. Small number bedroom(1-3 bedroom) may share more than 30% in total and maximum bedroom may not exceed 4 bedroom in the light of patients' psychological stability and infection prevention. Module for bedroom may be at least 6.6m*6.6m for multi-bedroom and 3.3m*6.6m for private/semi-private bedroom. For area per bed, small number bedroom may exceed 10§³ and large number bedroom may exceed 15§³. Bathroom should be attached to the all bedrooms for patients' convenience and privacy. Ancillary rooms for nursing unit must be appropriate in size and separated by clean and dirty zone. Public toilet is necessary for the visitors and the case of bathroom breakdown in patient room. |
