This study examines how internal volume affects the internal pressure on the interior roof surface of an open dome structure with a central opening. Wind tunnel tests were conducted using four different volume conditions, and internal pressure characteristics were analyzed through mean values, standard deviation, power spectral density, skewness, and kurtosis. The findings indicate that internal volume impacts both the magnitude and variability of internal pressure. In the Vs condition, Helmholtz resonance interacted with vortex shedding, amplifying energy around 67.5 Hz. Although Helmholtz resonance appeared at higher frequencies with lower energy, its independent effect was limited. These higher resonance frequencies, accompanied by relatively low energy levels, are notably different from those observed in previous studies that focused on structures with smaller openings. Analysis of skewness and kurtosis confirmed that non-Gaussian behavior was most evident under the Vs condition. |
