Purpose : For sustainable development and carbon neutralisation, research into reducing the energy consumption of buildings is essential. The aim of this study was to analyse the applicability of a photovoltaic and thermal system integrated with a district cooling and heating system for a net zero energy campus. Method : For this study, building electrical and thermal loads were estimated using Design-Builder software and the photovoltaic and thermal system was simulated using SAM software. The case study test campus was selected at G University and consisted of four buildings. This paper assumed that the four buildings are connected to district heating and cooling network and building roof and south facing walls were selected for PVT installation area. Result : In the study, it was analysed that the annual renewable energy share for heat pump operation of the buildings can be achieved by 51.9 % and the annual renewable energy share for the campus buildings can be achieved by 8.0 % by using PVT system. |
