(Research Background and Purpose) Thomas Saraceno noted the way space rises in geometric form in the air (aero), not just on the ground. Among them, he devised a new art genre called Aerocene, a new cloud city, and pursued an organic relationship between environment, architecture, and humans. He argues that nature and humans coexist in a fantastic space that forms a "social network" through interaction. As such, it can be seen that various components of modern society are connected in a network structure to break down each boundary and become entangled in a relationship, which is similar to the structure of Rhizome. It is a new artistic value that cannot be interpreted as a fixed ideology like modern space, and is a useful concept for effectively analyzing the new art genre of aerial scenery. This study aims to open up new potentials, possibilities, and future values by analyzing cases with the aim of examining the characteristics of aerial landscapes from a rhizome perspective and deriving specific ways to view relationships and create space. (Method) The research method first analyzes the artistic characteristics of design (space, product, fashion), performance (play, musical, dance), and video (digital art, film, advertisement) among the artistic examples reflected by prior research and literature data. Second, it presents spatial characteristics through Thomas Saraceno's concept of aerial scenery. Space creation elements are derived by linking the aforementioned characteristics with the artistic characteristics of the rhizome. Third, in the artist's work, it is classified into three ways: connection, form, and experience of space, and the case is applied to the keywords mentioned above and analyzed. (Result) As a result of analyzing cases by limiting Thomas Saraceno's representative genre of aerial scenery to the range, differences in objects, not one center, in the work, change in various directions and change in nature. Through these changes, each heterogeneous element such as human, art, nature, and science was fused and combined to have the character of de-territorialization. By connecting the artistic characteristics of rizome with the spatial characteristics of aerial landscapes were derived: "horizontal symbiosis," "derivative organicity," "dynamic floatation," "creative transformation," "extended experience," and "fluid perception." Based on this, spatial characteristic elements were classified into spatial linkage, shape, and experience and analyzed. (Conclusion) The public landscape awakens the possibility of the future as a space that forms a social network that embraces the symbiosis of space and nature beyond simple art works of experience. Symbiosis, organicity, wealth, transformation, experience, and perception shown in the spatial characteristics of aerial landscapes are factors that embody the upcoming future and are expected to revitalize the true value of the work and sustainable space as new art genres needed in the upcoming future. |
