¿ä¾à2 (Background and Purpose) According to the promotion plan of public design under the Public Design Promotion Act, a strategy for public design with a strong foundation was established, and practical measures in various public areas were needed. This study aims to contribute to the purpose of promotion public design as a characteristic study on the types of governance models for promoting public design based on the broad interpretation of governance as a way to solve various social problems and coordination patterns. In addition, various existing types of participation, cooperation, methods, and investment are reinterpreted from the perspective of governance as a problem-solving style to provide basic data for the public design governance model as a practice plan for public design. (Method) The study targets 12 governance models in four types: public value, public communication, public asset, and public cooperation of the governance model for public design promotion verified through the UNESCO ESD Official Project Certification System. The characteristic analysis of model type consisted of two steps. In the first stage analysis, macro analysis for each governance model was derived based on three criteria: topic-keyword-strategy. There are four main criteria used in the second-stage analysis. First of all, the strategies analyzed in step 1 were classified into four categories, and each detailed classification was analyzed into two detailed strategies, and the contents and characteristics accordingly were analyzed and described. Through each stage of analysis, the classification of governance models for the public design promotion and secondly, the part of what research topic can be divided into, and the method of governance were analyzed in a tangible manner to provide a foundation for use and application as a practical model. Although the research method may be biased toward the qualitative aspect, it was analyzed so that it can be used as a practical public design methodology by providing various expansion and applicability through the framework of qualitative analysis of governance model for the public design promotion. (Results) As a result of this study, the model characteristics of governance for public design promotion were analyzed that 48 major strategic characteristics such as social value, cloud sourcing, public proposal, private investment, sharing economy, public value realization, C.S.V., consumer-centered, social value discovery, private enterprise participation, citizen-led. public investment, private-led proposal type, idea sourcing, professional governance, capacity building, public cooperation, toolkit, digital, universal governance, guide guidelines, prototypes, rapid application, situation-specific solutions, user-centered, and standard preparation appeared. (Conclusions) Through this study, the deepening characteristics of the public design governance model, a cooperation and participation system for solving public problems, are analyzed as a methodology to strengthen the execution of public design.
