¿ä¾à2 (Background and Purpose) The change in concepts of medical service from ¡®treating the disease¡¯to ¡®healing the patient¡¯ has made medical environment highly relevant. In particular, children have experienced painful cognitive experiences in children¡¯s hospitals, resulting in anxiety, fear and other negative emotions. The current internal design of waiting spaces of most children¡¯s hospitals focuses on function with monotonous decoration and poor spatial experience, which is not conducive to children¡¯s healthy physical and mental development. However, research on interaction design in space design has focused on museums, exhibition spaces, game spaces and other experience spaces, with limited research on children¡¯s medical spaces. Therefore, this study applies interaction design to the design of waiting spaces in children¡¯s hospitals. Based on the understanding of children¡¯s spatial cognitive development, this study analyzes whether interaction design features and values of children¡¯s medical waiting spaces have a positive effect on alleviating children¡¯s negative emotions and enhancing children¡¯s positive experience of medical treatment, while providing a new research perspective for design of children¡¯s medical spaces. (Method) Firstly, by taking the pressure of children¡¯s medical treatment as the guide and children¡¯s spatial cognitive development as the theoretical basis, the concept of interaction design and interaction methods are examined, resulting in features and values of interaction design for children¡¯s medical waiting space. The analysis framework is set based on the content of the study; the current situation of application of interaction design in children¡¯s medical waiting spaces is analyzed, while the importance of the research and application of interaction design for children¡¯s medical spaces in line with children¡¯s spatial cognition, and the future development direction are elaborated based on analysis results. (Results) First: The better the development of children¡¯s spatial cognition, the better they can perceive positive experience from interaction design, making emphasis on children¡¯s physiological development a prerequisite for interaction design of medical waiting spaces. Second: The effectiveness of children¡¯s interactive experience in waiting spaces is influenced by the mode of interaction. The case results indicate that children prefer new media or interactive new media combined with conventional modalities to better alleviate children¡¯s anxiety. (Conclusions) The appearance of spatial features of interaction design in children¡¯s medical spaces in line with children¡¯s spatial cognitive development proves that children¡¯s medical space is not only spaces for medical treatment, but healing spaces that alleviate children¡¯s negative emotions and bring them happiness, which is also instrumental to children¡¯s physical development, imagination and creativity stimulation. The spatial characteristics of children¡¯s waiting space interaction design can be applied to children¡¯s medical space as strategies to break the traditional medical environment and the stereotype of hospital, and to provide an ideal medical environment for children, which is essential to examine from a social welfare perspective.
