¿ä¾à2 This study examines the control effects of a daylight dimming system in the an open plan-office with a curtain wall structure. Computers simulations using the Radiance software were conducted for daylight dimming systems with a fully-shielded photosensor in the north and south-facing space of the office under various sky conditions. Results indicate that the photosensor signals for the south-facing space under clear and intermediate sky conditions were greater than those in the north-facing space. Under the overcast sky conditions, the photosensor signals for the north-facing space were greater than those for the south-facing space. For the north-facing space, the best dimming was not achieved under all sky conditions, but good control effects occurred in June under a clear sky condition. For the south-facing space, the best dimming control was achieved in December under a clear sky condition. Good control performance also occurred in June and December under intermediate sky conditions. The prediction models of linear relationships between the desktop illuminance and photosensor illuminance due to daylight were statistically meaningful under the significance level of 0.05. The coefficients of determination for the model in the north-facing space was higher than those of the south-facing space. Lighting energy savings increased as the desktop illuminance due to daylight increased and the two variables showed strong linear relationship.
