In the process of radical urbanization, China is neglected to preserve local characteristics and cultural content due to the priority policy of economic development in cities. The railway station is the representative public transportation building of the region and the gateway to the city. As local residents satisfy their demands for interregional movement, demands for the creation of mental cultural ecology in the region are increasing, and research on facade design expressing local culture on railway stations is needed. In this study, as a public building, the facade design of the railway station should become symbolic significance in the region. It should highlight the symbolism of the railway station's facade through local culture. Nowadays, many international design competitions were being held in China. To continuously build railway station buildings that express more and more unique local cultures through the use of cutting-edge technology and the latest materials. Local cultural expressions of the railway station's facade design positively attract tourists and foreigners. Shandong Province is an advanced economy in China, such large-scale railway station construction projects will be carried out in other regions later, expressing the region's unique culture's facade designing and planning of railway stations suitable for the city's status should be made. |
