Most of the Hall built in the country have a proscenium arch that separates the audience from the stage. The Proscenium Arch has a visual effect, with the eyes facing the stage such as a picture frame, which is a necessary consideration when designing the Performance Halls. However, the lack of standards or statistical data for arch shape in the proper proscenium, It is having difficulty designing and using. From this point of view, In this study, we compared and analyzed the characteristics and specifications of the proscenium arch for each of the 106 Performance Halls built in Korea. As a result of analysis of the specifications of the Performance Halls, in the case of the Korean Traditional music hall, height 7 m, width 14.3 m, aspect ratio 1: 2.06, arch area 101.7 m2, the theater is 5.1 m in height, 11.3 m in width, aspect ratio 1: The arch area was 2.29, the arch area was 61.9 m2, the height of the multipurpose hall was 8.2 m, the width was 15.1 m, the aspect ratio was 1: 1.91, and the arch area was 128.9 m2. In addition, comparing the average size of the proscenium arches at each Performance Halls, it was in the order of? Multipurpose Hall> Korean Traditional music Hall> theater, and the aspect ratio of the proscenium Arch was shown in order of theater> Korean Traditional music Hall> Multipurpose Hall. In addition, as a result of analyzing the correlation between the width and height of the proscenium arch, the explanatory power (R2) of the Korean Traditional music Hall, theater, and multipurpose hall was 35.5%, 65.4%, and 55.2% respectively, and the arch area was 79.7%, 69.0%, and 64.6%. Therefore, knowing the number of seats will allow us somewhat to predict the size of the Proscenium arch. In addition, when comparing the size of the Korean proscenium arches to the standard of Western performances,?the Korean Traditional Music Halls are the same as large theaters, medium theaters, and multipurpose halls are the size of opera houses and small theaters. Therefore, it is considered that these results can be used as basic data for determining the appropriate size of the proscenium arch during the design and construction of the Performance Halls. |
