Currently, the university space is changing in response to the various needs of the new era. In the renovation of university buildings that have grown along with urban spaces, consideration of existing contexts other than simply creating new functional spaces will be particularly more important. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the cases of renovation of recently completed university buildings, figure out the trends, derive types and characteristics of building shape transformation, and propose them as basic data for future university building renovation plan.In order to analyze the change of university in the city, the shape transformation and exterior transformation were analyzed for the overseas university buildings that have been renovated for the last 10 years among universities with historical characteristics, and the results are as follows. First, the renovation of the university building is planned in the form of extension. Second, the expansion of space is planned by horizontal expansion rather than vertical expansion of the existing building, and the method of internalizing the courtyard surrounded by the existing exterior wall is preferred. Third, the renovation of university buildings is generally in the form of preserving the existing part and extending the new part to a modern structure and structure different from the existing part. To maintain the frontality, the method of maintaining the existing facade and adding new extensions is preferred rather than the form of maintaining the existing facade. |
