This study evaluated the mechanical and heating performance of CNT reinforced cement composites produced by addition of multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The main experimental variables was amount of CNT, with values of 0.0 wt% 0.1 wt% 0.3 wt% and 0.5 wt% of cement weight. The specimens mixed with CNT were subjected to input voltages of 50 V and 100 V through insertion of a reference electrode of stainless steel wire mesh type. The temperature at the center was measured according to the input voltage, and measurements were taken after 2 hours and 6 hours for each specimen. As the input voltage increased, the temperature at the center increased. In the case of the specimen in which CNT was added at 0.3 wt% of the cement weight, the maximum temperature increase was similar regardless of the application time of input voltage. The compressive strength of the test specimen was measured to assess its mechanical performance after voltage was applied. The compressive strength of test specimens with voltage applied decreased in the cases of specimens mixed with CNT. SEM analysis was performed to observe the distribution of CNT particles and changes in microstructure inside cement complex. |
