Today, Seoul City has grown rapidly as it enters the era of industrialization and information technology. Through continuous legal improvements, the number and area of public open spaces in Seoul have increased dramatically. However, such public open spaces were either used as parking lots or designed as a self-contained space, resulting in poor utilization or poor management. Public open spaces that must be created for the role of resting place in the urban environment are insufficient. Public open spaces must satisfy both public and private interests. So, there is a need for research on how to improve and utilize the problems for public open space. Complex commercial buildings are more like buildings for private than public. Public open spaces for complex commercial buildings should be a medium space that can interact with each other. Public open spaces of complex commercial buildings are not only a place to open for the public good, but a facility where collectivity, eventability, and usability are important. As the importance of the exterior space planning of complex commercial buildings increases, it is necessary to improve the quality of the use of public spaces. The purpose of the research is to investigate each period and to study the use of space for qualitatively improved public spaces. |
