Utilizing idle space is a space with memories, not new spaces. The purpose of this study is to select unused old) Andong Theater and Jinsung Theater as case places and identify the characteristics of the place memory as a role of a mediator to connect people and place through the place memory for the purpose of recreating the space with the identity, and suggest a plan for recycling unused space. As for the method of this study, the causes and types of idle space were investigated for idle space, and this study presented the analysis framework to understand the characteristics of place memory and the meaning of idle space regeneration plan, and the space regeneration plan of Andong theater and Jinsung theater was considered based on questionnaire materials of local residents. The results of this study are as follows: First, this study applied the space through the maintenance of outside and repair of inside together with the surrounding landscape, the plane of the earth, the cross section as physical characteristics, and second, this study applied the youth performance place and constant performance venue, and small exhibition hall for communication of participation as well as experience appearing through the memory and experience of people as physical characteristics. Third, the temporal characteristic has a continuity that connects the past memory with the present or the future. To keep various programs and past facilities, memorable music cafes and roller skating halls were applied as hologram venues. From this point of view, the reproduction of idle space has a meaning as a cultural space of a new local community. First, the physical space and form have the value to preserve the history and culture, and second, the local people are worth preserving the memory, and the third, the shared value is expressed through the public various contents formed from experience and relationship with the local people. Finally, there is an easy sense of space for any citizens to easily participate and share, as well as connectivity between people, people, space and people. In addition, it has a meaning as a space to minimize the space where local residents share and anyone want to stay together with spatial characteristic as a symbolic image. Through this study, it is expected that the idle space will play a meaningful role as a place of existence with the local people and be revived. |
