From the perspective of urban renewal, 'place-making' is an important subject to be studied. To this day, 'place-making' in the cities has been carried out in a way of utilizing neglected waste industrial heritage or creating an underdeveloped street. In the 2000s, new urban renewal methods are emerging to make place. This method is a concept of urban regeneration based on the history and culture of the region, which can emphasize regional identity, overcoming the limitations of places created by the existing 'place-making' method through the connection of place, and is understood as a new way to stand on regional independence through network construction. Through the case analysis of 'network place-making', this study tries to present the implications of urban regeneration through network site creation as a new way to not only physically regenerate but also for regional independence. |
