There are many old buildings in the Chungjungro 3 area around Chongjung apartment building, including Hanok. Although the area was designated as a redevelopment project long time ago, the redevelopment has not been carried out for more than 10 years. Therefore, some local residents have chosen to cancel the redevelopment plan and have decided to decorate the alley and old buildings as a beautiful art and culture space. However, all the wide-road faced buildings are separated from each other by a new building in the form of a high-rise building. In this process, only Chongjeong Apartments remain in a position to connect old buildings and alleys. In this background, we re-evaluate the Chongjung apartment building as a bridge between modern and contemporary, preserve the morphological value by improving the residential environment in the new memory, and suggest the renovation needed by the community. |
