The terminal 2 of Incheon International Airport, taking a role of the hub airport in northeast asia, opened on Jan.18, 2018. On this case study, various structural systems and design concepts applied on the 3rd project of the terminal 2 are introduced. This project is the essence that domestic and international cutting-edge construction techniques are totally consolidated. Especially, 'Cable Net System' and 'Grid Lattice Shell Structure System', rarely adopted in domestic projects until now, have allowed to realize structural free-form and superior openness. The project also take an advantage of BIM(building information modeling) for flexible management from start of it and application of instrumentation management system provides not only maintenance but also safety on its construction site. |
