The number of young single-person households has significantly increased. However, there is not enough housing model or policy for the younger generation who is a major consumer of single-person households. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of housing characteristics for the millennials. Current housing type, satisfaction, satisfying factor, unsatisfying factor, and the considerate factors for future selection are determined by performing a questionnaire survey. To improve the housing satisfaction of the younger generation, it is necessary to maintain or even improve the satisfying factors as well as to remedy the unsatisfactory factors. The conclusions of this study suggest that the application of co-housing is one of the appropriated methods to solve the housing problems. These days the millennials have their own lifestyles and are firm about it, so few housing types cannot improve their satisfaction. It is possible to achieve the realization in a short time if both the software aspect that can apply various lifestyles such as flexible housing and the hardware aspect that can supply mass production at low cost such as modular housing are all pleased. |
