Many in the research community and Governments have become interested in the development strategies of urban waterfronts. Urban waterfronts are recognized as urban areas with significant potential for sustainable urban regeneration. This study outlines the research that has been carried out to understand Urban Regeneration in urban waterfront. First of all, the purpose of this paper is find out an urban design strategy for urban waterfront's regeneration by case studies. This research will investigate and compare two urban regeneration projects, which now are focus of typical urban regeneration activity for urban waterfront in Western Europe. Clearly, Wasserstadt Berlin-Oberhavel and HafenCity Hamburg as the representative program-led urban regeneration in Germany. |
