Dye-sensitized solar cell (DS¤¤C) technology arose from the concept of artificial photosynthesis, which attempting to replicate the ability of plants to turn sunlight into useful energy. Therefore power performance of D¤¤SC is directly relevant to the insolation and thus a shading effect. This study experimentally investigated the partial shading effect to the power performance of D¤¤SC to draw up a guideline for building applications. The results showed that the power performance degradation of DS¤¤C was proportional to shading area, and no power generation was observed when the shading area was more than 66%. |
