The study intends to present a direction for BIM Library Development customized for the Elderly Housing, which can be used for modular housing by analyzing the behaviors of the elderly and the relevant researches on the elderly housing. The existing BIM library targets ordinary people as users, and the direction of the research tend to focus only on the system. The existing BIM library, in terms of practical and pragmatic point of view, is inappropriate for the elderly housing since it is not divided in detail to apply to space. Therefore, this research aims to develop the BIM library applicable for modular housing for the elderly. The spatial extent of the study is limited to the entrance, kitchen and bathroom, which have the biggest differentiation between the elderly housing and the public housing, these spaces require the system customized for the elderly. This study, through the precedent research and theoretical consideration, analyzes the behaviors of the elderly and the residential design technique, modular housing, BIM library, and the domestic standards relevant to the elderly. Then, the guidelines customized for the elderly housing are derived. Also, the analysis on the existing BIM library customized for the elderly housing are conducted. Finally, the modular-based BIM library customized for the entrance, kitchen, and bathroom are proposed, based on the guidelines derived in this research. Through this research, it is expected to present basic directions for modular-based BIM Library and contribute to the supply and activation of the modular housing customized for the elderly. |
