In the present study, an analysis was conducted as to what characteristics are displayed in the contemporary kitchen space as the life style is being changed. According to the results of previous studies, the characteristics of the contemporary kitchen spaces were shown to be multi-functionality, variability, emotionality, and the kitchen spaces were analyzed through the analysis framework by arranging the detailed contents of the characteristics. According to the analysis results for cases, diversified activities such as storage, etc. through systematization of spaces were supported for multi-functionality, and information support was made possible by built-in home appliances. Conversion of spaces has been directed through expansion of spaces or sliding door, etc. where fluid forms appear due to retrieval of furniture for variability. Lastly, since the boundary between a living room and a kitchen is ambiguous for emotionality, so that linkage occurred here, it could be seen to be a space where interactions among family members were allowed and a community of children's education, etc. appeared. The significance is placed to identification of how the space characteristics for the actual kitchen spaces were expressed and displayed by deriving the characteristic elements for contemporary kitchen spaces resulting from the change in life styles through the present study. |
