The basic purpose of the exhibition design is to provide a space for empathy between the exhibits and audiences that can allow optimal viewing. That makes smoothly convey the information and messages of the exhibition. For this, creating exhibition space is very important which cannot be overlooked. Therefore this study conducted research about design methodology through consideration of the special exhibition of National Folk Museum of Korea: Embracing, Neo-Confucian Ideals which would be the example of the application of plot concept. Plot(Flot) is a literary term about imagery of the work, but the concept has similarities with creating space by mental activities adding imagination and constructing space by selecting materials and arranging them. Therefore the concept is useful as spatial composition or methodology of space analysis. Especially in the case of exhibition design, it is important to convey information of contents within the contextualization of stories through the structure. The introduction of the plot concept in spatial planning is highly expected to increase the utility in communication with audiences. As a result, I could find out the exhibition space which brings in such methodology plays the role of creating exhibition atmosphere. And the space itself connotes stories enough to influence whole visitor experience. |
