This study proposes seismic design and retrofit process of nonstructural components that can be used by non-engineers. Nonstructural components include not only architectural, mechanical, electrical components but also contents belong to the building occupants. Because it is impossible to do the engineering for all non-structural components, easy and available solutions for non-engineers such as clients, contractors and civil servants are required. We selected stone claddings, suspended ceilings and access floors and proposed practical solutions considering the construction details used in the field. |
