A Monte Carlo Sampling (MCS) method has been widely used for uncertainty propagations of building simulation tools. In general, most unknown inputs of the MCS method are regarded as single probability distributions based on expert's subjective judgements and assumptions, when most simulation information are insufficient. However, it can lead to untrustworthy results. Since, the results are affected by the selected priori probability distributions. This paper introduces a fuzzy MCS method based on possibility theory for handling these uncertainty problem. In the paper, it will be discussed that the fuzzy MCS method could effectively used for deal with retrofits under uncertainties. |
