The purpose of this study is to assess the current state of the public libraries in Ulsan based on the survey results of the users' satisfaction and to measure the value of its public accessibility. The result of the analysis is as follows: various categories representing architectural characteristics related to public accessibility of the libraries were examined and summarized into four factors; the physical/psychological accessibility, the connectivity of inner spaces, the connectivity of outer spaces, and the connectivity with the city. We found that Bukgu Library needs to increase connectivity of inner spaces, the Ulju Library needs to improve the physical/psychological accessibility, Dosan and the Nongso 1 Libraries need to improve the connectivity of outer spaces, and the Nongso 3 Library can enhance its public accessibility by reforming the physical design elements of the library architecture. |
