¿ä¾à2 Today, Parametric modeling and Building Information Modeling present opportunities to radically change the architectural design process, which has similarly radical implication on design education. So this paper explores SPC application by means of Parametric Modeling and BIM through an actual experiment by housing project. Under the NAAB conditions students are required to demonstrate either Understanding or Ability of different aspects within each of three realms. The SPC state that the architecture student of today is expected to clearly demonstrate both understanding and ability within multiple different aspects of architectural knowledge. And an actual experiment by housing project by means of Parametric Modeling and BIM deals with only Integrating Building Practice and Technical Skills and Knowledge. Parametric modeling and Building Information Modeling are demanding a broader knowledge base and deeper skill set. The results present the understanding and ability of demanding SPC in the architectural design process.
