In modern society, enlargement and sophistication of architectural space have made trace the route difficult, so that it is almost impossible to find the route only with recognition of spatial environment. Sign system as means of assistance is considered as an effective pathfinding tool that displays the direction to the destination or the current location information. However, signs that are installed in the place with low visibility and that discontinue guiding process can't perform their own roles, and too many signs can cause confusion. Therefore, analysis technology and analysis algorism that are able to analyze visibility along the courses are suggested. This is a multidimensional analysis theory that moving sequence is applied to, so that visual structure between visual point and the target can be analyzed on the 3 dimensional spatial coordinate based on spatial structure theory of visual property. By applying this theory to outpatient division of hospital that operates integrated functions but is very goal-oriented, an empirical study was performed. The following results were gained from the study. 1) Through spatial structure analysis, sign's hierarchy design is possible, and through prediction of pedestrian volume, location of sign's installment can be assessed. 2) The analysis of sign's type showed high visible connectivity ratio of guidance sign. This is because vision connection possibility between sign and visual point is intended to increase with the choice of open spot. 3) With the analysis of the nondirectional general visibility by route, sign's contribution rate according to visitors' destination routes can be found out, based on which, supportability of sign for departure and destination can be measured. 4) FOV Visibility by Route that limited viewing angle could calculated, visibility for each sign in the normal walking environment could be estimated, and concentrativeness of sign compared to general visibility by route could also be found out. |
