This study is about the choice of visitors¡¯ pathway at the exhibition. The choice of visitors¡¯ pathways is influenced by the layout of the exhibition space. The type of visitors can be put into two categories; those who are active and those who are passive. The analysis by SPACESYNTAX found that the choice of active visitors¡¯ pathway is carried on under the influence of the spatial phase, whereas the passive visitors precede viewing under the influence of the each exhibition element. The passive visitors tend to end their visit by looking at the exhibits only from a distance and not with a close look at each of them. The research was done for the exhibition space of the ¡°Nobel Prize and I¡± at National Gwacheon Science Museum. The study analyzed the impact of the active and passive visitors¡¯ choice of pathways. This analytical method can be used in anticipation of pathway in future exhibition and to discover the problem so that the designers can fix and develop the way that can be complemented. |
