The purpose of the study is to diagnose condition of fire prone areas and to select an optimal location of fire stations in Ulsan Metropolitan Area. Population data was collected from 2010 Census and data of road network was came from the Standard Node-link of National Transport Information Center. This study used service area option of network analysis through Arc GIS 10.2.1 software. For finding new location of fire stations, it found mean centers of residential and industrial areas. The results were as follows : 1) Current fire stations were clustered in city center while 119 fire houses were distributed over a wide area. However, 119 fire houses could not cover more than 28% of its total area within 5 minutes. 2) Two new locations of fire stations were suggested at the nearby Hogye station in Nongso 1 dong and Songhyun village in Bumseo-eub. Service areas within 5 minutes have increased from 97.9§´ to 215.9§´. |
