As a lifestyle and social change, the neighborhood build up around elementary school becomes change. Activities near the school move to the community streets that many facilities are distributed to, while utilization of facilities based on existing theory becomes lower. The study aims to draw a practical neighborhood active center of low-rise residential areas. In order to deduct the active center or range, conduct the survey of value of land, awareness, physical conditions of planned residential area in Seoul. Also to analyze features of practical center of neighborhood, conduct the survey about functionality, accessibility and actual activity. For comparison to existing neighborhood, specific sites are based on school districts stated at Education Office. This study assumes that the neighborhood active center is not limited around elementary school and variously build up by circumstances. It has a significance that we present a question about the traditional theory and also could be references of the future city maintenance in the long term. |
