This paper introduces an acausal approach using Modelica compared to causal simulation tools (e.g. EnergyPlus, TRNSYS, ESP-r). A coupling between Modelica and a Monte Carlo Sampling (MCS) technique were implemented in MATLAB. For this study, a double glazing system was chosen and modelled by Modelica. As a result of uncertainty analysis, it is presented that Modelica is useful for dynamic behavior of windows and can be used for risk based decision making. |
