Modern office buildings often have large glazed areas and the larger window to ratio(WWR) has become a problem of heat loss. Therefore window should be optimized design for energy saving effect. Considering shading systems might be necessary in order to reduce energy demand and lighting. In this study, the energy saving effects was analyzed through the various shading strategies for office building in seoul using COMFEN 4.1. Energy demands for heating, cooling, lighting and ventilation fans have been evaluated. The simulations show that the choice of shading strategy can have an impact on the energy demand of the office. |
