요약2	Jongmyo Shrine was designated as the UNESCO World Heritage in 1995 since its excellence as architectural space and tangible and intangible factors of aesthetic artistry of ancestral ritual formalities and royal ancestral rites music were highly evaluated. This study is a result of the trial to interpret the tangible and intangible ontologistic value of Jongmyo with the aspect of formative art thoughts. Therefore, its clue was found by Confucian thought of Chosun Dynasty which plays the role of practical background of values as well as the interpretation of the era. Based on the formative thoughts of Confucianism, the Unity of Heaven and Man, Etiquette Music Theory and Moderation, the tangible aesthetic sense of Jongmyo architectural space and intangible aesthetic sense of Jongmyo ancestral ritual formalities and royal ancestral rites music were investigated and noble and symbolic Jongmyo was interpreted by many aspects. Based on this, it was concluded that the space formative aesthetic sense of Jongmyo is a space where standard and freedom coexist, an eternal house reached through repetition and circulation, a transcendental world of unlimited border. The aesthetic sense of Jongmyo ancestral ritual formalities and royal ancestral rites music is an order of harmony connecting life and death, a beauty which is strict but not stiff, the Sound of Heaven played by original sound with no technique. Jongmyo perfectly interpreted the view of life and death of Confucianism and created the noble world of shrine architecture, and it is the fruit of composite art that completely embodies the procedure, content and artistry of ritual.
