Recently, structural safety issues due to unexpected weather conditions regarding existing PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures have arisen in Korea. PEB structures have been widely constructed for functional purposes, such as factories and warehouses. For the sake of design optimization for the required member forces, main columns and rafter beams commonly use web-tapered members. In this study, the basic design data has been reviewed and safety inspections were conducted for existing structures which used PEB system. Based on the results, structural safety analyses and risk assessments were carried out. |
