In recent years, indoor air pollution due to phthalate esters has gained increasing attention. In particular, phthalate esters present in house dust have been reported to have a considerable impact on infant health. Therefore, this study examined the concentration of SVOC from the phthalates in kindergartens. By using the micro-chamber, this study investigated the phthalates' emission rate released from the shoes, stationery and PVC flooring in the kindergartens. As a results, the concentration of DEHP in kindergarten dusts were much higher than that of in house dusts. It is predicted that children are more exposed to the risk because of their staying for a longer time in kindergartens. This study showed that DEHP, DBP and other phthalates were emitted from the shoes, stationeries and PVC floorings by the micro-chamber. |
