The concept of the tectonic has researched since nineteenth century in Germany to find the identify of modern architecture. The concept of traditional tectonic knowledge to emphasize structural joints and attention to detail in creativity had displayed architectural form by means of poetry of construction and its meaning has developed in various ways in contemporary architecture. This study considers general, conceptual feature of tectonic from the modern and classical views and aims to analyze tectonic concepts and expressional characteristics of Goffried Semper, Karl Botticher and Martin Heidegger. |
