The purpose of this study is to organize the basic resources for planning a rest area and to suggest the better directions through the synthetically clarifying the characteristics of resting behaviors and utilizations of facilities in museums. We chose 5 museums located in Busan and observed people how to use the rest area, after keeping a record about the people's behavior and then asking people to fill out the follow-up questionnaire. The results are as follows: Bokcheon Museum had the largest rest area per gloss area and Busan Museum of Art had relatively the smallest rest area per gloss area; Busan Fishing Village Folklore Museum which had the least number of whole seating capacity received the lowest degree of satisfaction and the other 4 museums had appeared similar results; The ratio that users demand rest time during touring the museum hit the highest level at 40 percent. |
