Most cities are putting forth individuals urban images to distinguish themselves from their near cities. The purpose of this study is to analysis of actual condition on the perception of urban image through urban contexts, focused on Seoul Metropolitan Case by survey of skyline and landmark. The results of this research are as follows: following the survey, the best favorite landscape are N seoul tower(N¼¿ïŸ¿ö), 63Building(63ºôµù), Trade center(¹«¿ª¼¾ÅÍ), Soonglemoon(¼þ·Ê¹®), Han River's bridge(ÇѰ´Ù¸®). Specially historical characteristics were deduced as major elements of the urban images in Seoul. And it was also shown that the urban images have influence on the some places and buildings, like as a Bukchon(ºÏÃÌ) and I-Park(¾ÆÀÌÆÄÅ©), Tower Palace(Ÿ¿öÆÓ¸®½º). By this results, a urban image could be analyzed in more detail point of view. Not only spatial elements but also non-spatial elements have important influence with the establishment of a total urban image. Therefore, the emphasis on urban image planning using non-spatial elements is requested in follow-up studies. |
