The purpose of this study is to examine the applicability of Green Building XML, referred to as "gbXML", as a multipurpose analytic model for building performance evaluation in recently active BIM collaboration environment. For this study, a methodology and algorithm for generation of an analytic model for spatial analysis from gbXML data file was built up and a Java-based gbXML parser was developed using it. The parser was plugged into the existing SNAT, Spatial Network Analysis Tools, and was tested by generating spatial models and graphs from the three different LOD example files. Finally, the applicability in practice was verified through a simulation of the spatial analysis process using the gbXML data file, which was exported from Revit Architecture 2011. |
