It is ‘nature’ that our society pays attention to according as technology has been developed and qualitative value of life has been raised. This tendency has been naturally penetrated into residential space, the most basic place in life. Housing companies have also applied finishing materials expressing ‘nature’. Therefore, the purpose of the study was to expressive methods and current status of apartment finishing materials for trend 'nature'. The results were as follows. First, finishing materials putting the features of ‘nature’ cause abundant interior space, create emotional atmosphere through the energy of nature and form mental suitability and comfortable environment, it is very important to introduce the elements of nature. Second, according to survey of residential space trend from year 2009 to 2011, it was expressed in the keywords of ‘basics’, ‘essence’, ‘destruction’, ‘fusion’, 'coexistence' and ‘connection’. On the basis of the above, the study could divide the expressive elements of nature into ‘pursuit of natural essence’ and ‘reanalysis of nature’. ‘Reanalysis of nature’ was subdivided into ‘creative fusion’, ‘destruction of field’, ‘connection of time’ and ‘coexistence of space’ again. Through preceding researches, the study could extract ‘material’, ‘texture’, ‘color’ and ‘pattern’ from expressive elements of finishing materials. Third, considering the expressive elements of nature and finishing materials mentioned in above, the study could suggest a standard for status comparison between trend and apartment finishing materials. Fourth, examining the present apartment finishing materials, the study could see that there were diverse attempts to express ‘nature’ trend so limitedly through finishing materials though expression of residential space for recent three years was not enough. |
