This study aims to figure out functions of apartment entrance required in the modern resident and, in turn, to suggest the new apartment entrance plans, which existing problems are fixed, by analyzing domestic prestige apartments in terms of entrance functions. This is because traditional entrances in apartment were used for either storage spaces or the ways connecting between spaces. Few research and development, however, were focused on the potential functions of apartment entrances. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to review and compare the extant functions and formation of apartment entrances. For this study, survey and case analysis were used for data collection. The major findings were as followings: 1) the size of domestic prestige apartment entrance ranges from 80m2 to 110m2on average and the mainly used way is located at center, 2) the shape of storage varied with the size of space and the way of plan entry, and 3) for entrance functions, both structural space plan and specialized product are insufficient. These results can provide improvement guidelines for the entrance with the differentiation of design factors for residents. |
