This study is to propose a prototype model of an energy-efficient apartment building and to predict how much energy it can save. The case study used as a baseline is ¡®Namyang-ju Byeol-rae Apartment complex¡¯ that consumes 22.5% less energy than normal apartments. In order to develop a more energy-efficient apartment compared to the baseline, ¡®Sustainable Housing Construction Standards and Performance¡¯ is used as a reference guideline. To meet the requirements indicated in the guideline, building energy saving ratios, thermal insulation performance of building envelope sand applicability of renewable energy are examined. The most energy-efficient alternative is chosen as a prototype model and it results in about 40% energy saving compared to normal apartments. |
