The purpose of this study is to analyze the space planning factors of the observation deck in high-rise buildings since it is rare to find the studies on this architectural space. First, categorizing the typology of the observation decks in general, this study is focused on the space planning factors of SWFC as a case study. The results of this study are as follows; First, location and accessibility of an observation deck should be strategically planned for its urban identity and symbolic image enhancement. It can also invigorate the local industry. Second, spatial configurations of different uses should be carefully planned for their efficiency. Third, special consideration to ceiling height and lighting are needed in planning. |
