¿ä¾à2 Since the modern era until recent, museum architecture's concept types can be explained and divided into 3 different generations. Among those 3 generations, the 3rd generation in museum architecture can be defined as the period of "pluralism";a period which space configuration and architectural solution bonds closer than ever. The 3rd Generation in museum architecture provides easy accessability for public visitors and has characteristics of having various functions to serve as a culture complex, and also with versatility in space configuration. But the most unique development of the 3rd Generation Museum is that those museums have considered its form and function away from conventional characters. 3rd generation museums show freedom in its architectural expression and fits into needs of the society and public interest. In other words, these museums have evolved toward the public's need on museum function as multi-cultural complex and to become a large public space. Therefore, this study will examine various museums in the 3rd Generation in museum architecture and it will analyze and summarize its period's characteristics which will be a valuable study to find upcoming concept and space configuration direction for the future generation in museum architecture. In chapter 2, explanation of the period as well as defining of the period's characteristics on space configuration, and in chapter 3, focus of the analysis will be on 3rd generation museum architecture to give a comprehensive analysis and the last chapter will make conclusion as well as suggestion for the future.
