¿ä¾à2 The concept of place from modern architecture to the contemporary is getting weaked. Architecture has been mainly focused on the formalistic image artifacts, and this results are due to the ignorance of the site, placeness, and the relationship around the site. Thus, as a methodology to identify the meaning of placeness the relationships between images of the place by analogy and architecture. This study is to describe the construction of Peter Zumthor's placeness, and to explore how his placeness construction is related to images. Finally, through the Bachelard's image of 'La terre images(earth)' in his material imagination theory, this study is to explore image of the place and construction of the placeness in Zumthor's Vals spa.
