Ventilation is essential for healthy indoor air quality. However, thermal condition of outdoor air is so poor in summer and winter that ventilation is apt to increase energy consumption. Therefore, energy-efficient ventilation system is very important. Thermal labyrinth system is a ventilation system which intakes outdoor air through an underground concrete structure shaped like a labyrinth. This system can precool and preheat the outdoor air in summer and winter, respectively, by the heat exchange with ground. The purpose of this study is to analyze the temperature and humidity of outdoor air passing through thermal labyrinth system, applied to the E University building, by measurement in August. |
