The purpose of this paper is to suggest the possibility of cooling heating load reduction in office space when changing overhang length and shading coefficient. A tendency of cooling heating load is different at all compass bearings by reason of a change of transmitted solar radiation. Therefore, an azimuthal plan of a building is an important factor for cooling heating load reduction. Among the design factors of a building skin, overhangs and shading coefficient have influence on transmitted solar radiation and cooling heating load. For this study, e-Quest which is developed by Department of Energy in U.S.A performed a simulation for the building's cooling heating load. In light of the result, Cooling heating load is decreased when changing overhang length and shading coefficient. But a quantity of coling heating load reduction appears different from each azimuth angle. |
