There have been many researches on the community and sense of community, however It needs to develop the measure of sense of community. evaluating indicators to measure the level of deterioration of apartments inclusively and practically The purpose of this study was to analyze the sense of community of residents who live in apartments and the characteristics affecting sense of community, in order to suggest a direction for developing the measure of sense of community. The questionnaire survey was conducted 168 residents of apartment in Bundang. The questionnaire comprised the sense of community index of McMillan et al., demographic characteristics, physical environments such as characteristics of site, community spaces, and building condition, and socio-psychological environments such as neighborhood relationship, participation, identity and privacy and so on. The frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA analysis were used. The sense of community in apartments' residents were identified 4 elements-place attachment, belonging, affection to neighbor, and complex fulfill. Residents have strong to place attachment and complex fulfill, however weak inter-relationship with neighborhood. Resident periods, satisfaction of community spaces and programs, residents' participation level, number of intimate neighborhood, identity and privacy show a significant relationship with the sense of community. These results can provide basic data for active community planing and residents environment evaluation. |
