Due to the global warming and the gradual increase of costs for energy generation, new buildings aim high energy efficiency. At the same time, the thermal comfort has to be maintained. To achive these requirements, a building has to contain and energetically optimated architecture, uses thermally optimized building construction and contains a well controlled and efficient plant system with focus on the use of sustainable energy. In order to investigate the reduction performance of building energy demand by passive design, we calculated the building energy demand by using the dynamic thermal simulation carried out with the dynamic thermal simulation program ESP-r. The base case has been compared with model variations which are focused on the shading device control. As a result, an optimization of the solar shading device control can lead to a further reduction of the energy demand : the heating demand could be reduced by over 50% and the cooling demand up to 40%. |
